Jake Turner, born on February 25, 1999, is an English goalkeeper currently playing for Gillingham in League Two.

Turner’s early football career took an unconventional path. Initially, he played as an outfield player but transitioned to goalkeeper after being suggested by Rene Meulensteen, a family friend. He underwent goalkeeper training with Meulensteen, and his talent was quickly recognized by Bolton Wanderers scouts, leading to his signing with their academy.

During his development, Turner had loan spells at several clubs, including Stalybridge Celtic, Frickley Athletic, and Darlington. In July 2019, he joined Newcastle United, influenced by former Bolton teammate Sammy Ameobi.

In August 2020, Turner was loaned to Morecambe for a season but was recalled by Newcastle in January 2021. He continued his loan journey, joining Colchester United in League Two in August 2021. Turner impressed and became the first-choice goalkeeper during his loan spell.

On June 30, 2022, Jake Turner made a permanent move to Gillingham in League Two, where he continues his professional career as a goalkeeper.
